In an era where personal development is often reduced to surface-level hacks and quick fixes, one woman is inviting people back to something much deeper: the truth of who they truly are. Rilee Astraea, a poetic author, creative guide, and certified movement instructor, has officially launched House of Astraea, a creative, personal transformation studio she runs out of Island Lake, IL. Her work blends psychology, story, somatics, and soul—challenging high performers to rethink what growth truly looks like.
Astraea’s new public platform, Mystic in the Matrix, has become a home for those navigating unraveling, awakening, or identity collapse. Through poetic essays, thought leadership reels, and a signature mentorship program called The Art of Anastasis, she helps clients move through breakdown, shadow, and story rewrite into an integrated rebirth—an experience she knows firsthand.
“After years of helping corporations define their voice, I realized true transformation isn’t about performance or aesthetics,” Astraea says. “It’s messy, human, and rooted in authenticity. I created Mystic in the Matrix to give people a place to feel seen in their falling apart—and empowered in their falling together.”
Her debut memoir, The Other Side of Awakening, offers a lyrical window into her experience with ego death, psychiatric unraveling, and spiritual rebirth. It is part of a growing series of short, genre-blurring books—each designed to be read in under two hours—that serve as practical, reflective entryways into personal transformation. Written to be accessible and grounded, her books give most people a way to step into the deeper work without overwhelm. Alongside the memoir, Astraea has introduced her signature mentorship program and transformation guidebook, The Art of Anastasis (Greek for “to rise again”), which guides clients through a six-phase journey of self-examination, rewriting old stories, and grounding new patterns in the body so transformation lasts.
What makes Astraea’s approach unique is how it blends the mystical with the methodical. With a blended approach of change management, somatic coaching, and spiritual healing—paired with a decade as a communications consultant for Fortune 500s and federal agencies—she brings a rare fusion of structure, soul, and sensitivity to her work. Before launching her studio, Astraea spent over a decade leading strategy for major organizations, including Scottrade, Baxter Credit Union, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
But her own transformation began when the systems she helped support no longer aligned with her inner truth. As a late-identified autistic woman, she found herself unraveling under the weight of societal performance culture. What appeared to be a breakdown was, in fact, a breakthrough.
“My work isn’t about helping people become better versions of themselves,” she says. “It’s about helping them remember who they were before the world told them who to be.”
Under the House of Astraea umbrella, Astraea’s work expands beyond the individual. Co-founded with her husband and creative collaborator, Tim Brennan—a men’s mentor and certified recovery guide—they’re shaping both physical and digital spaces where people can shed their “iron armor,” reclaim their story, and live in rhythm with themselves and the world around them. Their offerings draw on both science and mysticism, designed to meet people who know there’s more but may be resistant to change.
Astraea primarily works with high-performing women ages 25–40 who are navigating identity shifts, spiritual awakenings, or the impact of neurodivergence and trauma. By blending inner strength with somatic expression, she helps clients root their transformation in the body—making the shifts tangible, lasting, and easier to understand. All of House of Astraea’s offerings are designed for former achievers who have outgrown the masks they once wore and are ready to embrace change through creative, holistic paths. Her weekly reels on Instagram and essays on Medium provide free, accessible entry points into her work, often helping followers feel seen and supported long before they step into formal mentorship.
With The Other Side of Awakening now available and her online platform steadily growing, Astraea is setting a new standard for transformation work—one that honors complexity, creativity, and the nervous system.
“In a world obsessed with fixing and curating,” she says, “this work isn’t about perfecting yourself. It’s about reclaiming your truth and remembering that even your mess can be sacred.”
