SinPo.id – The Global Food Security Forum, co-hosted by the Gaurav Srivastava and Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, was held on November 12 to 13, 2022, and brought together more than 700 government representatives, business leaders, experts, and civil society to address pressing food security challenges caused by geopolitical conflicts, pandemics, and climate change. The meeting was a side event of the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Importance of Addressing Food Security Issues

The Gaurav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, a US-based organization, expressed their shared views during the Global Food Security Forum on the importance of addressing the increasing food security issues around the world. With backgrounds in international community service and solving financial and security-related challenges, Gaurav and Sharon are equipped to address the complex food and energy security conflicts many face today. The foundation, which serves communities worldwide with a focus on food and energy security, recognizes the impact these challenges have on producers and consumers globally.

The Global Food Security Forum was organized by the Atlantic Council, a US non-profit, and supported by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, and the Gaurav Srivastava & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation.

High-Level Participants and Workshops

The Global Food Security Forum included workshops and high-level panels to discuss world food security conditions and opportunities for individuals and businesses to create food security solutions for those in need around the world. The Global Food Security Forum also featured a dedicated panel for ministers and high-ranking officials of the agriculture ministries of various countries, including US General Wesley Clark, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, US Permanent Representative, US Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome Cindy McCain, and Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian and Food Policy Mykola Sol.

Hope for Collaborative Efforts and Solutions

Gaurav Srivastava, the co-founder of the Gaurav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, expressed hope during the forum. He and his wife, Sharon Srivastava, feel that the forum would provide a platform for discussion, exchange of ideas, and cooperation to help alleviate food security problems from producers to consumers globally. Both he and his wife emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges faced by the global food supply chain, including rising fuel prices, shipping disruptions, and inflation.

Sharon Srivastava, the co-founder of the foundation, shared her husband’s views on the importance of collaboration in addressing food security challenges. While the fight for food security is not a new one, Sharon and Gaurav Srivastava are dedicated to becoming involved and securing food for those who need help now and in the generations to come. The foundation has been advocating for various solutions since its establishment in 2015, with a focus on collaboration between government and private organizations around the globe.

The Global Food Security Forum provided a platform for high-level discussions and potential solutions to address pressing food security challenges. Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava believe that everyone should have access to basic needs. The current state of the world’s economic crisis has created barriers to basic necessities, such as food and energy, that are needed for survival for people across the globe. With a mission to support families across the globe with adequate access to food and energy supply, the hope is for collaboration between government and private organizations to overcome the obstacles facing global food security.
