Earlier this year. Olathe East High School’s school resource officer Erik Clark was nominated for a medal of valor by U.S. Senator Roger Marshall and Olathe Police Chief Mike Butaud for his bravery in the line of duty after he responded to a school shooting that left three people dead.

What is the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor?

The Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor is an award given to law enforcement officers. Who display exemplary courage and bravery in the line of duty. Olathe East High School’s Resource Officer, Ryan McClure, has been nominate for this prestigious award.

McClure has been a part of the Olathe East community for over five years. He started his career as a police officer in Olathe, Kansas, before moving to Olathe East. McClure is currently the Resource Officer at the school.

According to the nomination statement, on November 22, 2015, McClure “exhibited extraordinary courage and bravery” while responding to a gun battle between two rival gangs near Olathe East High School. During the shootout, McClure “risked his life multiple times” to keep students and staff safe.

The Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor. One of the highest awards that can be given to law enforcement officers. If accepted, McClure will become only the second person from Kansas to receive this medal.

In October of 2018, Olathe East High School’s Resource Officer, Mr. Douglas Hartman, was nominate for the Medal of Valor award from the Kansas Chiefs of Police Association. Douglas is one of only twenty four officers to ever be nominate and only five have been given the award in history.

The Medal of Valor is the highest honor a law enforcement officer can receive. It given for extraordinary heroism in action. Against an enemy of the United States or in support of civil authorities. The award is presente by the President of the United States to “a member of the uniforme services. Who shows conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States.”

Douglas has dedicated his life to serving his community and continues to do so through his work as Olathe East’s Resource Officer. He has been praise for his dedication to his job and his commitment to helping students succeed. Douglas has been with Olathe East since 2016 and during that time he has helped numerous students get into college and find jobs.

It is clear that Douglas’ heroic actions deserve recognition

Who can be nominate for the medal?

Anyone can be nominate for the Medal of Valor. Which is awarde to individuals who demonstrate extraordinary heroism or courage in the face of danger. There are a number of eligibility requirements for the medal but the most important is that the nominee must have performe an act of heroism that was not only courageous but also lifesaving.

This means that Olathe East High School’s Resource Officer, Jason Seaman, could be nominated for the medal if he is found to have saved a life during his time as a school resource officer. In March. Seaman was callto assist with a situation at Olathe East High School. Where an individual had allegedly threatene another student with a knife. When Seaman arrived on scene, he found the alleged assailant already in custody. According to Seaman’s testimony during an internal investigation conducted by Olathe Police Department. He used his training and experience to de-escalate the situation and prevent any further violence.

If nominated and found eligible for the medal. Seaman would become only the fourth member of Kansas law enforcement to be so honore.

Why Erik Clark was nominate for the award?

Erik Clark is the Resource Officer at Olathe East High School in Olathe, Kansas. Clark was nominatfor the Medal of Valor by his coworkers for his heroic actions during a shooting at the school on February 22, 2018.

Clark responded to the shooting by engaging the shooter, who was still firing shots, and helping to evacuate students. He then ran back into the school to help injured students and staff. Clark risk his own safety to save others and was critically injur while doing so.

Clark’s story is an example of heroism and selflessness in the face of danger. His actions have helped make Olathe East High School a safer place, and he deserves recognition for his bravery.

The United States is continuing to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian separatists by supplying it with military aid. This time, the U.S. has donated an air defense system that can intercept ballistic missiles and other aerial threats. The new donation was announcduring a press conference on Monday.

What is the U.S. sending to Ukraine?

Ukraine is receiving a U.S. air defense system. The system, called the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3), will help protect Ukraine from aircraft and ballistic missiles. The PAC-3 is a three-tier missile defense system. Level 1 is a short-range radar that detects and tracks aircraft and missiles. Level 2 is an intermediate-range radar that can track ballistic missiles in the Earth’s atmosphere. 3 is a long-range radar that can track objects in space. The U.S. government has been providing military assistance to Ukraine since the early 1990s. The recent shipment of the PAC-3 system is part of this long history of support.

What are the consequences of this?

Ukraine has received a U.S. air defense system, and it is now up to the Ukrainian government to decide what consequences this will have. The system which is worth $3 billion, will be station in the country’s southeastern region of Zakarpattia.

There are many people who are concerned about this decision, as they believe that it could lead to further escalation between Ukraine and Russia. Some people believe that the system could be use to target Russian civilian populations.

The Ukrainian government has yet to make any statements about the system, and it is unclear what its goals are. However, some experts say that this could be a sign of increased U.S. involvement in Ukraine’s affairs.

The U.S. Department of State announced that Ukraine has received a Patriot missile system from the U.S. government. The missile system will be station in the country’s capital Kiev and help to bolster Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

The distribution of the Patriot missile system is part of a broader effort by the United States to support Ukraine’s efforts to stabilize its government and protect its citizens from the ongoing conflict in the east. The missile system will improve Ukraine’s ability to defend against aerial attack, and it will also bolster relations between the two countries.

The U.S. Department of State says that receiving the Patriot missile system is a “major step” in helping Ukraine address its security challenges. The systems will provide additional protection for Kiev residents, as well as for American personnel stationed in Ukraine.

Who else has received such aid from America recently?

Ukraine has recently received a U.S. air defense system, joining fellow NATO allies Estonia and Latvia who have also received such aid in the past few months. Will Russia retaliate to this aid?

Ukraine has received a U.S. air defense system. Which is seen as a deterrent against Russian aggression. The system call the Patriot is valued at $3 billion and will be station in the country’s south-east. Russia has threaten to retaliate if the system is install but so far there have been no reports of hostilities.

Many experts believe that this air defense system is meant as a warning to Russia and that the United States is not planning on using it offensively. However given Russia’s recent military aggression in Ukraine some people are wor that Moscow could take retaliation into account when making its decision about whether or not to attack Ukraine.

On Tuesday, over 100 diplomats from 40 Western countries and allies, including Japan, walked out of Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov’s speech to the top UN human rights forum objection to Russia’s attack on Ukraine. 

The representatives from the European Union, the United States, Britain, and many more boycotts left hardly any diplomats in the room, including Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s ambassador to the UN in Geneva and previous deputy to Lavrov. 

Among the delegations that remained were Syria, China, and Venezuela representatives. 

Lavrov was far-off from tackling the UN Human Rights Council, following the postponement of his visit because of what the Russian mission said on Monday were EU states jamming his flight path. 

On Monday, Switzerland, a country with a foreign policy of neutrality, has implemented financial sanctions on Lavrov as well, a move of the global condemnation over an invasion Russia calls a “special military operation” targeted at deposing “neo-Nazis” governing Ukraine. 

Lavrov, in his speech, alleged the EU of participating in a “Russophobic frenzy” by offering weaponry to Ukraine during Moscow’s military operation that started last Thursday. 

On Tuesday, a Russian armored convoy moved into Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and attacking forces blasted missile bombardment into the center of Kharkiv, the second-largest city in the country, on the sixth-day mark of Russia’s strike on its neighbor. 

Some of the diplomats who walked out are Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly and Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, standing aside Ukrainian ambassador Yevheniia Filipenko behind a huge Ukrainian blue and yellow flag. 

Filipenko said in an interview, “It is a remarkable show of support for Ukrainians who are fighting for independence.” She added there had been “massive destruction to civilian infrastructure” in Kharkiv, further stating: “The maternity wards are being attacked, civilian residential buildings are being bombed.” 

However, Russia refuses to admit to aiming at any civilian sites. 

Joly of Canada stated: “Minister Lavrov was giving his version, which is false, about what is happening in Ukraine, and so that’s why we wanted to show a very strong stance together.” 

Canada will appeal in the International Criminal Court Tuesday over what Joly remarked was Russia’s “crimes against humanity and war crimes.”

On Tuesday, Russia bombed a TV tower in the capital of Ukraine. It showered rockets on Kharkiv city as Moscow aggregated its assault of urban regions in Ukraine in a change of strategy following the stall of its six-day invasion. 

According to a US official, a miles-long armored convoy moving in the capital Kyiv has not made a move to forge ahead in the past 24 hours, held up by problems in logistics, fuel, and food shortage, and possibly halting to re-evaluate strategy. 

The defense ministry of Russia encouraged Kyiv citizens to escape and stated that it would target unidentified areas used by the security services and communications of Ukraine. 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking in a heavily guarded government compound in Kyiv, stated Russia should “first stop bombing people” before peace negotiations could progress. 

Zelensky, in an interview, asked NATO allies to implement a no-fly zone to halt Russia’s air force, which the military alliance has dismissed. 

While Zelensky, unshaven and sporting plain khaki garments, spoke, news broke that a Russian missile had hit a TV tower close to Babyn Yar Holocaust memorial site in Kyiv, leading to the deaths of approximately five people. 

On Tuesday, Zelensky had a 30-minute conversation with US counterpart Joe Biden. He said the heavy weaponry blasts on the eastern city of Kharkiv were equal to “state terrorism.” 

According to the White House, Biden and Zelensky talked about how Russia had aggregated assaults on sites utilized by civilians. The US leader is anticipated to stress Western unity over Ukraine in his State of the Union address on Tuesday. 

President Vladimir Putin has gathered an international censure and sanctions that have already dragged the ruble value to its downfall and propelled Russians to seek other options aside from banks to secure their savings. 

The West and its allies have implemented severe sanctions on Russia to block off its economy from the international financial system, queuing companies worldwide to stop sales, disassociate, and junk tens of billions of dollars worth of investments.
